So I have a slight obsession with Napoleon and France during the fin de siècle, and ensuing 50 years. You could call it a complex, but it's much simpler than that. Really any good historical fiction does the trick. Brooks' plot line of three lovers involved with the moving of Napoleon's body from Saint Helena after his death opens their worlds to political passions and intrigue.
